High School 15U Coaches

Niko Gonzalez

Niko Gonzalez is from Boerne, Texas and a Max Prep All-American as well as a High-school Under Armour All-American. Niko Gonzalez signed a letter of intent to play at Midland Junior College, where he was blessed to play for one of the father’s of pitching Jim Lawler who was previously at A&M for 26 years. After a two year junior college baseball career, Niko finished his college playing career at Incarnate Word under head coach Danny Heep former Major Leaguer who won 2 world series rings with the Mets and Dodgers. After college Niko decided to go play in the Independent Baseball League in Mexico and El Paso, Texas. After 1 year of playing professional baseball Niko decided to come back home and do what he loves, which is helping kids reach their goals and dreams.

Augie Ramirez

Augie was born and raised in Taylor, TX where he attended and played baseball at Taylor High School. Following graduation Augie decided to join the military. After his service was complete he returned to Taylor to raise a family with his wife Angie. Augie has been coaching competitive youth baseball of all ages (8U-18U) for over 20 years. Currently Augie serves as a Youth Director for Austin Elite along with his coaching duties. Coach Ramirez is also the Head Baseball Coach at Concordia High School.

Ryan is currently a full-time firefighter/paramedic for the San Antonio Fire Department. Ryan and his wife Jana reside in Blanco, TX with their two boys Baylor and Carson. He is a 5th generation rancher and enjoys raising cattle, hunting, fishing, and all types of sporting activities. Ryan has been coaching youth sports since his first internship with Kids Sports Network following his graduation from UTSA in the fall of 2000 and enjoys passing on his knowledge to future generations.

Adam Pena

Adam Pena is a native of Mission, Texas and a Max Prep All American and Rio Grand Valley MVP, Adam Pena signed a letter of intent to play at San Jac Junior Colllege, the same school that produced Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte and Brandon Belt. After a two year junior college baseball career, Adam finished his playing career at Incarnate Word University.

Adam graduated from Sharyland High School. A four year letterman, he received all state honors his junior and senior year by the THSCA and the TSWA.

Adam looks forward to helping kids reach their dreams and goals of getting to the next level.

Ryan Smith

Ryan was a four year starter for his high school in Pleasanton, TX earning first team All-District for the Eagles. Following high school Ryan was a four year starter for UTSA, earning First-Team All-Southland Conference outfielder and also doubled as one of the Roadrunner’s top starting pitchers. He finished his college career with 27 homeruns which ranked him third on the all-time UTSA homerun list. Ryan was selected by the Reds in the 27th round of the June 2000 MLB draft and played outfield for the Billings Mustangs.

High School 16U Coaches

RJ Peruki

RJ played Shortstop and 3rd Base for the UTSA Roadrunners for his 4 years of college. He was a 3 time all conference player as well as pre season all conference. He won the all conference tournament team and is the all time leader in games played, games started and assists in season for a freshman. He is second in at bats and hits for UTSA Baseball as well as 5th in RBIs, 6th in total bases, 8th in walks, 9th in runs, and 10th in OPS %.

Jason LaRue

Jason LaRue is a Smithson Valley High School graduate. After high school he went to Northeast Texas Community college in Mt. Pleasant, Texas followed by Dallas Baptist University. After being selected in the 5th round of the 1995 Major League Baseball Draft out of Dallas Baptist University, LaRue debuted with the Cincinnati Reds on June 15, 1999 and became Cincinnati’s starting catcher in 2001. 2005 was his best overall season with 14 HR, 60 RBI and .260 batting average. LaRue was with the Cincinnati Reds until 2006. In 2007 he played one year with Kansas City Royals. The last three years of his career were with the St. Louis Cardinals. LaRue announced his retirement from Major League Baseball in 2010.

Larue was known throughout his career to be a defensive specialist, in 2001 he led the Major Leagues with a 61% caught stealing percentage and has a career 39%. Larue is now enjoying his passion for the outdoors and is a full time deer-breeder.

Dustin Lindeman

Dustin was born and raised in Round Rock, TX where he attended Stony Point High School. As a Varsity letterman for 3 of his 4 years, Dustin was one of Stony Point’s biggest bats in the middle of their lineup. Following his senior year Coach Lindeman was selected to the AABCA All-Star Game in 2006. After graduation Dustin continued his baseball career at Texas Wesleyan University. Once his career had come to an end Dustin moved back to the Austin area and began his coaching career. Coach Lindeman has been with the Austin Elite staff for over 6 years coaching teams from 9U-17U.

Scott Little

Scott was born and raised in Austin, TX where he attended Westwood High School. After playing baseball for Bart Bratcher at Westwood, Scott stayed close to home when he decided to attend The University of Texas. After graduating with a Degree in Finance, Coach Little founded multiple businesses within Central Texas that he still owns and operates today. For the past 20 years Scott has been coaching highly competitive youth select teams ranging from 9U-18U. As one of the co-founders of Austin Elite Baseball, Scott never lets us forget that he still has the most combined wins on the coaching staff.

High School 17U Coaches

Cory Cummings

Cory was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. His family turned their love for NASCAR into a love for baseball when they moved to Round Rock in 1995. Cory attended Round Rock High School where he played varsity baseball for 3 years. After graduating in 2008 he knew coaching was the next step for him. From ‘09-’14 he served as the head coach for 16U showcase teams at Austin Baseball Club (ABC). In 2015 Cory joined the Austin Elite coaching staff where he has coached teams ranging from 12U-17U. Coach Cummings currently resides in Hutto with his wife Cassie and is pursuing a degree in Business Management at Texas A&M University-Central Texas.

Justin Kolinek

Justin was born and raised in Taylor, TX. He played baseball at Taylor High School for four years as a P/SS and received 2nd Team All-District honors for both positions. He continued his baseball career at Temple College from ’04-‘06 where he received an Associate’s Degree. In 2016 Justin moved back to Taylor to start his coaching career in hopes of sharing his baseball knowledge with young minds of the game.

Tom Shearn

Tom was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio where he attended Briggs High School. After graduation Tom was drafted in the 29th round by the Houston Astros where he played for 7 years. In 2001 Shearn was selected to the USA Baseball World Cup team, taking home the silver medal. The following year Tom joined the Cincinnati Reds organization, eventually making his major league debut in 2007. The last professional stop for Coach Shearn was in the Korean Baseball League for the Samsung Lions in 2008. Once baseball was done for Tom he moved to the Austin area and began working at Dell. Wanting to be around the game again, Shearn began coaching at the youth level to share his love for the game.

Steven Corkill

Steven grew up right here in Austin and attended McNeil High School. During his time at McNeil Steven excelled as a third baseman and gained the interest of Ranger College. He took that opportunity following graduation and played from ’03-’04 before transferring to Texas State. In 2007, Steven graduated with a Degree in Exercise and Sports Science while minoring in Sports Psychology. He also holds a Teacher Certification in all-level PE. After moving back to Austin he began his coaching career and has worked as an area scout for companies such as Prepstar. With over 7 years of select coaching experience we are happy to have Coach Corkill as a member of the Austin Elite Staff.
